Here are some examples: (my categories are pretty random but that’s how I work)

  • Health – Eat a diet that gives me lots of energy
  • Wealth – £7mil in savings by 30
  • Items – Private gulfstream jet
  • Fitness – To be able to perform 50 pull ups non stop
  • Contribution – Set up foundation for clean water & electricity
  • Relationships – Marry the women of my dreams
  • Travel – See Everest for my own eyes
  • Personal Development – Live the fullest life I can

Step 2 – Time frames

Look back through your list and assign a time frame (1, 3, 5, 10, 20+ years) to each onedownload

Looking back at the above examples:

  • Health – Eat a diet that gives me lots of energy 1
  • Wealth – £7mil in savings 5
  • Items – Private gulfstream jet 20
  • Fitness – To be able to perform 50 pull ups non stop 1
  • Contribution – Set up foundation for clean water & electricity  20
  • Relationships – Marry the women of my dreams 10
  • Travel – See Everest for my own eyes 3
  • Personal Development – Live the fullest life I can 20

Step 3 – Make a vision

Take your 5+ year goals and turn them into a vision board, you can also make a vision statement too.

Click here to see my vision board, and here to make a vision statement

Looking back at the above examples:

  • Set up foundation for clean water & electricity  20

For my vision this turns into:

  • I will create a powerful foundation to enable the eradication of poor access to clean water and electricity for the entire world, I will lead

Step 4 – SMARTIE objectives

Here is my post on SMARTIE Objectives.

Use this to turn you goals into achievable results.

Here is an example:

  • Fitness – To be able to perform 50 pull ups non stop 1

SMARTIE Objective:

  • I will easily be able to perform 50 pull ups non stop by March 31st 2016.

Step 5 – In your face

You now have a vision board and SMARTIE Objectives set and need to put them somewhere where you will look at them every day and read them out.

I personally have my vision board as my desktop background and my SMARTIE Objectives printed out.

I read these every morning to enthuse me for the day.

Step 6 – Measure you SMARTIEs

I have always loved data and recently started using something called the Life Mastery Circle to measure my progress in different life areas.

Here’s my breakdown of how you can use this to measure your progress too.

However in short, measure each area of your life on a scale of 1-10.

Use excel or similar to plot a spider graph of the results.

Here’s an example:
